The inaugral Gympie Garden Expo was founded in 2000 by the Gympie Municipal Horticultural Society in conjunction with the President Noel Ellis and his wife June Ellis.
A Grant was received from the Gympie Council and the Ellis family along with the Horticultural Society initiated the first Expo. Mr Ellis was the first President and went on to hold this position for some years.
The Gympie & District Orchid Society exhibited at this event and went on to become joint stakeholders with the Gympie Municipal Horticultural Society in running the Expo. Both groups became incorporated and still work together to bring the best of Gympie’s gardening community together at this annual expo.
Gympie Garden Expo
